Community Impacts

Piedmont Housing Alliance is a regional nonprofit organization that creates housing and community development opportunities for very low to moderate income families and individuals, teaches financial literacy and management, homebuying and homeownership skills, and advocates for affordable housing policies and programs.

• Each year, PHA serves over 1,200 people -- more than 900 of whom are very low-income.
   
• PHA has brought over $100 million of community development investments to Central Virginia.
   
• PHA has built or rehabilitated over 400 affordable apartments for very low-income households.
   
• PHA has built over 50 new homes for low-income homebuyers.
   
• PHA's award-winning development team is a leader in "green" and accessible housing.
   
• PHA has helped over 650 families buy their first home.
   
• PHA has counseled over 3,000 clients in financial literacy, homebuying & homeowning, and being a successful renter.
   
• PHA's award-winning fair housing program has educated thousands while helping hundreds defend their rights.
    
• PHA's Creciendo Juntos program has worked with over 100 agencies in improving services to thousands of underserved Latinos.
